0020 Enemy aircraft were again reported in the sector and two of our aircraft were

ordered off on patrol.  

 

  0140 Two more of our aircraft were ordered off to Patrol base at 4,000 and 5,000 ft

respectively   

 

  0215 All aircraft were ordered to land and the all clear was given.   

 

  0333 More plots appeared and one aircraft took off to patrol Red Line at 5,000 feet   

 

  0353 Red Section took off to patrol base at 8,000 ft.   

 

  1621 Yellow Section was ordered to patrol base, at the same time the single aircraft was

ordered    to land.  Nothing developed and both Sections were ordered to land

without interception having been made.   

 

  1640 "B" flight left for Woolsington and returned next morning.   

 

  1307 Red Section took off to patrol base at 20,000 ft. to intercept one raid that was

reported to be approaching    from Berwick.  All three pilots saw a Heinkel 111 but

no interception was made and the section     landed 15 minutes later.  There was a

great deal of cloud and the enemy aircraft was only seen for a moment.

 

  2140 Green section were ordered to patrol base at 3,000 ft but were recalled 11 minutes

later. Green section ordered to base at 12000 ft and Blue Section at 15,000 ft.  The
